If Superheroes Ate Bagel Sandwiches...

A good portion of people that walk through the doors assume Gotham Bagels is some type of batman-themed restaurant. It is not, in fact, a batman-themed restaurant. But the association is not way off the mark—Gotham is a nickname for New York City, and you’d be hard-pressed to find any superhero who doesn’t live in New York City… or something looking suspiciously similar to it. Batman with a lox bagel sandwich

Batman

Batman orders lox. Or, rather, Bruce Wayne does. Think about it—there’s no way Gotham’s most eligible millionaire doesn’t enjoy only the finest smoked salmon. Specifically, we’re willing to bet it’s plain cream cheese, Nova lox and capers on sesame, brought up to his bedroom by Alfred.

Superman with a bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich

Superman

Clark Kent is a bacon, egg, and cheese guy. It’s the everyman’s sandwich, after all. Superman might actually be from another planet, but come on—bacon is everyone’s kryptonite. Everything bagel, cheddar cheese, fried egg, and a healthy amount of bacon.

Spiderman with a tunafish sandwich

Spiderman

Before he got bit by that spider, Peter Parker grew up on his aunt’s cooking. You know he was eating tuna. The rich, distinctive flavor reminds him of growing up and the protein and omega-3 fatty acids keep his spider senses sharp. His usual at the deli is traditional tunafish salad on a poppy bagel.

Ironman with a pastrami sandwich

Ironman

Pastrami! For Tony Stark it’s pastrami. Spicy, bold, and loud. Those words could describe either pastrami or Tony Stark himself. In between bouts of inventive genius, his sustenance surely consists of bites of pastrami and egg on pumpernickel.

Joker with a bagel

Joker

Here’s a bonus question—what does the Joker order?! Answer: chaos reigns. While it’s hard to imagine this particular supervillain interacting with society in any normal way, when he’s at the bagel shop Joker gets cinnamon raisin with scallion cream cheese, every time. Ha ha ha...
